Before you start
You need Minecraft Java or Bedrock, access to the game, and multiplayer enabled. Choose a release in the supported range 26.3–1.21.11. The Java steps are below; Bedrock instructions follow them.
Join with Minecraft Java

Launch a supported Java version
Open the Minecraft Launcher and choose a Java release in the supported range 26.3–1.21.11. Start the game and sign in through the official launcher if needed.

Open the multiplayer menu
Choose Multiplayer, then Add Server. Set Server Name to Unstable SMP; this name is just a label for your saved entry.

Paste the server address
Enter unstable-events.net in Server Address without https://, a slash, spaces, or an appended port.

Save and connect
Choose Done, select Unstable SMP in the server list, and press Join Server. Keep the saved entry for your next visit.
Join with Minecraft Bedrock
On a Bedrock device with Add Server available, open Play → Servers → Add Server. Set the name to Unstable SMP and the address to unstable-events.net. Enter 19132 in Port, then save and join. Some console editions do not offer a custom-server entry screen.
If Minecraft will not connect
Unknown host
Re-enter unstable-events.net carefully. Remove web prefixes and any added port. If the spelling is correct, check Discord for a service issue before changing your network settings.
Outdated client or server
Check that your Java or Bedrock release is in the supported range 26.3–1.21.11. Read current announcements if the server requests another version.
Timeout or connection refused
The server may be restarting or your connection may be interrupted. Check announcements, restart Minecraft, and try again. You do not normally need router port forwarding to join a public server.
Still stuck?
Ask in the official Discord with the exact error, your Minecraft version, and the address you entered. Include a screenshot only after hiding personal information. Never include account passwords, sign-in codes, or tokens.

Keep your Minecraft account secure
Never send your Microsoft password, one-time sign-in code, recovery code, or account token to a bot or server member. An unexpected verification request is a reason to stop and check the destination before continuing.
